About Jude / Mellon / Lunn / Donoughue
This website is dedicated to my mum in her memory - Annie Jude (1941 - 1984) whom I dearly miss.

My mother was born 02 Jul 1941 in Portadown, N. Ireland & was orphaned at the tender age of 6yrs old after the tragic deaths of her parents within a year of one another. She was then raised by an aunt Wilhelmina (Jude) & uncle John McAdam Walsh, prior to leaving N. Ireland in her late teens to join her older sister (my aunt) Elizabeth (Betty) in Perth, Scotland, where she married my father William J C MacKinnon on 11 Feb 1961 & raised a family of 6 children, 3 girls & 3 boys.

My mum died suddenly in 1984 aged 43yrs old when I was only 23yrs old.

I had little interest in my maternal roots as my mum knew little herself, having been orphaned so young but as the years passed I found myself asking questions that would never be answered and decided to look further into it which opened up a "whole new world".

I discovered that my maternal grandparents were from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland, England & not Belfast, Northern Ireland as I had originally believed which has made the task easier for me.

I would like to thank most of all my Auntie Betty (Elizabeth) Morrison (Jude), for her invaluable help & support, my brother Iain MacKinnon, my cousin Joan Sloan (Morrison) & my cousin Roddy Morrison's wife Kay Morrison (Richards) who have been great sources, with valuable information and of course corrections!!

I am especially thankful to Patrick Butler who dug me out of an enormous hole & brick wall to enable me to carry on my task - Thanks Patrick for your help which is very much appreciated indeed!!!!

I apologise to you all for being so inquisitive but every little bit has helped me to build what I can call "My Family Tree" and you can now reap the benefits in this lovely informative site but none-the-less, will still welcome any new info. - especially old photo's of our ancestors.

Many thanks to you all for your contributions and enjoy reading!!!!!!

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
